I just tried this recipe once and it was a big success at my regular poker game. i was tired of the regular stuff and wanted to make something different. one night i was at a cajun restaurant and got the idea to put the jambalaya in a wrap to make it easy to hold while playing cards.

Jambalaya poker Style

Traditionally Jambalaya is not a food you would want at poker game, but this recipe is for a Jambalaya wrap. This makes it the perfect food for a poker game. With all the great things you can put in jambalaya makes it an exciting food for an exciting poker game. The wrap helps keep it all together so it can be eaten with one hand while you are playing cards and will not spoil your poker game. A Jambalaya wrap can easy be put aside when its your time to deal the cards, and will not hold up your poker game at all.

INGREDIENTS:

• 2 teaspoons olive oil
• 2 boneless skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-size pieces
• 8 ounces kielbasa, diced
• 1 onion, diced
• 1 green bell pepper, diced
• 1/2 cup diced celery
• 2 tablespoons chopped garlic
• 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
• 1/2 teaspoon onion powder salt and ground black pepper to taste
• 2 cups uncooked white rice
• 4 cups chicken stock
• 3 bay leaves
• 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
• 1 teaspoon hot pepper sauce
• 1 package wraps

DIRECTIONS:

Heat oil in a large pot over medium high heat.
Saute chicken and kielbasa until lightly browned, about 5 minutes.
Stir in onion, bell pepper, celery and garlic.
Season with cayenne, onion powder, salt and pepper.
Cook 5 minutes, or until onion is tender and translucent.
Add rice, then stir in chicken stock and bay leaves.
Bring to a boil, then reduce heat, cover, and simmer 20 minutes, or until rice is tender.
Stir in the Worcestershire sauce and hot pepper sauce.

After letting cool down for 20 minutes take a large spoon and put 1 large spoonful in a wrap fold it up and cut it in half, put on a plate and serve.
