Spanish 21 first appeared in Las Vegas casinos in l995. It was developed by a former casino employee who was looking for an entertaining version of the popular table game blackjack. Spanish 21 is played with six decks of 48 card pack without the 10 cards.

The object of Spanish 21 is the same as in traditional blackjack. The players goal is to beat the dealer by having a total value of a hand closest to 21 but not over. The players in the Spanish 21 game are allowed to double down any number of cards, even after splitting. In addition, they can also double down for less than the initial bet.

A player who beats the dealer is paid 3:2. The Spanish 21 game offers a bonus 21 payoff. You can win the bonus 21 if your hand total is 21 and it includes any 5, 6, 7 or better, or 6-7-8 of different suits, 6-7-8 of same suit, 6-7-8 of spades, 7-7-7 of different suits, 7-7-7 of same suit and 7-7-7 of spades.
